The course

A Caribbean island is an incredible place to run a marathon and Grand Cayman doesn’t disappoint! The picturesque course takes you through the financial district of George Town, along the beautiful waterfront and through South Sound with its charming homes and magnificent views of the sea. Temperatures are usually around the low 70s, with a cooling breeze ensuring comfortable conditions. And despite the early start, the Cayman community is up and out to help motivate tired runners with music, creatively decorated water stands and cheers along the route!

Prizes

All runners who complete their race will receive a commemorative finishers medal. In addition, awards are given to the top 3 males and females overall in the Marathon, Half Marathon, Wheelchair Half Marathon and the top three teams in 5 different relay divisions.

Carb loading!

Runners are also well fed and watered before and after the race. The night before competitors can load up on carbs at a free Pasta Party, meet fellow competitors and swap tips for the next day! Once runners have completed their race and collected their coveted medal, they can head to the relaxation area for chilled Caybrew beer and snacks. There’s even a massage area to help heal those weary muscles! Then, because you are on a Caribbean island you can head to the beach to recharge your batteries or refuel at one of Cayman’s best brunches! Whatever you decide to do, it’s guaranteed that this marathon will be one of your most memorable!

Charity support

The Walkers Cayman Islands Marathon benefits two great causes in the Cayman Islands: the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. Competitors are also encouraged to raise money for their preferred charity.
