Annual Flowers Sea Swim 2025
1,000 competitors swim along Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, in the hope of winning $100,000 in prizes!
Annual Flowers Sea Swim:
The 2025 Flowers Sea Swim will be the 33rd annual event and takes place on Saturday June 14th.
Flowers One Mile Sea Swim
Every year 1,000 swimmers enter Cayman’s crystal clear blue flat waters along Seven Mile Beach and compete in the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim along stunning Seven Mile Beach. The Sea Swim is one of Cayman's biggest sporting events and is also known as the world’s richest race, with participants being eligible to win up to $100,000 in prizes. Even better, it’s also a fantastic fundraising event as all entry fees are donated to local charities.
Competitors range from 8 to 80 years and are of varying abilities. Olympic swimmers and local brothers Shaune and Brett Fraser compete every year bringing some star quality to the event and provide inspiration to young Cayman swimmers. The rest of the field is made of up of local and visiting swimmers ranging from the pretty speedy to breast strokers; all aiming to cross the line and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes! US$10,000 is given to anyone who breaks the world record of the fastest swum ocean mile.
Registration
Registration is not yet open for the 2025 event.
Cost
Registration fees for 2025 have not yet been confirmed. As a guide, 2024 fees were US$60 (CI$50) for the One Mile Swim and US$36 (CI$30) for Walk and Watch.
Swim Free Programme
A non-Profit organisation teaching the children of Cayman to swim at least 10 feet for safety and emergency situations. So far, Swim Free has taught over 300 kids this potentially lifesaving skill, in a very cool mobile swimming pool!
Walk & Watch
For those who aren’t confident in the water there is a Walk & Watch option whereby you walk the one mile on the beach, alongside the swimmers. This is a great way to share in the excitement, contribute to a worthy cause and still be eligible to win fantastic prizes!
Prizes
While the top athletes will be competing for the top awards, everyone else is hoping to win over $100,000 in cash and random prizes. The odds of winning are 1-in-7 and prizes include tablets, hotel stays, restaurant vouchers, airline tickets and more. All finishers receive a fantastic t-shirt and goody bag full of great surprises
Charity
All registration proceeds are donated to local charities.
2024 Results
The conditions were excellent and it was a great event for all who participated and spectated.
Ms. Teagan Nash was the top female finisher [12th overall] with a time of 23:24:33
Mr. Maxwell Enes in a time of 19:00.64 took 1st overall and was the top male finisher.
