Though only a short car ride from the west, East End is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach. As you drive further round the island, the coastline becomes more rugged, with ironshore hugging the land. There are still many beaches to take advantage of, but these are more rough around the edges when compared to the like of Seven Mile Beach. Yet, they are beautiful in their own right and deserve to be explored.
Like North Side, East End is largely residential and is home to more local Caymanians than expats. You'll find unique stores selling local handicrafts like soaps, conch shells and cigars and there are many more beachfront shacks selling local cuisine than you'll find in the west. East End is also the home of some sightseeing spots, such as the Wreck of the Ten Sail, the East End Lighthouse, Lovers Wall and the Blowholes. For those looking for underwater sightseeing spots, the diving in East End is exceptional.
The restaurants tend to be a bit more rustic, but look out for Tukka East, around the corner from the Parrot Sanctuary, for delicious food overlooking the Caribbean Sea. A trip to Grand Cayman is not complete without a journey to East End.
