The Bar Scene in Grand Cayman
Learn about the bar scene in Grand Cayman with our guide to the best bars.
If you're looking for nightlife, the majority of it is concentrated in the Seven Mile Beach area, with a few bars in West Bay and George Town. Further out in the East End and North Side you will find some really laid-back island-style places, well away from the hustle and bustle of the Seven Mile Beach strip.
The Seven Mile Beach bar scene is massively varied, with cocktail
bars featuring talented mixologists, casual beach bars for the barefoot
crowd, trendy bars with plenty of live music and everything in between,
including wine bars, karaoke venues, pubs, cigar lounges and more.
Live bands and DJs play in lots of bars on a regular basis and many bars and restaurants have specials nights, so there is always some live music to suit all tastes.
The bars and restaurants in Camana Bay are all smart and sophisticated, as are the resort bars at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Marriott Resort, The Westin, Kimpton Seafire, Hampton by Hilton, Hotel Indigo and more.

Waterfront Bars
There are numerous waterfront bars where the vibe is relaxed and you can enjoy the warm tropical evenings and watch the sunset. Head to George Town and West Bay for a more relaxed, island vibe, or Seven Mile Beach and Camana Bay for many of the more up-scale cocktail bars.
Laid-Back Bars and Beach Bars
For a laid-back, island-style experience head east to the chilled-out scene in East End, Rum Point or Cayman Kai. Along the way to these spots there are casual local bars in Bodden Town and Breakers. Locals are very welcoming and the view of the sea is pretty breathtaking.
Sports Bars
There are over 137 nationalities represented in Cayman, meaning there are sports (and sports fans) of every kind. This makes for an exciting atmosphere at any of the Island’s sports bars. Fidel's, Legendz, Craft, Coconut Joes (all in SMB) and Salty’s Sports Bar (GT) are all popular places to catch the game, fight or race.
Editor's Note
Due to local licensing laws, all bars must be closed by midnight on Saturday and Sunday nights, and by 1am the rest of the week, unless they have a special extension until 2am. These hours are strictly enforced and all customers must be off the premises by closing time.
