Most businesses operate from Monday to Friday (8.30am–5pm) and some open on Saturdays until around 2pm.

Sunday, the Sabbath, is still observed to a considerable degree, but unlike years gone by, some smaller supermarkets may be open for groceries and liquor on limited hours.

Liquor stores trade from 10am to 10pm Monday to Saturday. Although some close at an earlier hour. On a Sunday, they are open from 1pm-7pm.

Gas stations are open too and they also sell basic grocery items. The larger stores and most boutique stores will remain closed however.

Several Pharmacies in key regions across the Island will be open on a Sunday, for medical supplies and other pharmaceutical needs.

Bars close at 1am Monday to Friday and at midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Nightclubs are open from Mondays to Thursdays until 2am; on Fridays they can serve alcohol until 2.45am but must then close at 3am, and on Saturdays they close at 12am. They are never open on Sundays.
