Additional Information
Snorkelling
One of the standout features of Smith's Barcadere is its exceptional snorkelling opportunities. The clear and calm waters near the shore offer a glimpse into the vibrant marine life of Grand Cayman. From colourful fish to coral formations, it’s great for both beginners and experienced snorkellers. Safety-wise, not a lot of other watersports take place here and there's little to no boating. The area is not marked with any buoys. Kids can snorkel close to shore and are likely to see marine life immediately. Adults can swim out deeper into the rock formations and it is not uncommon to see an octopus.
Atmosphere
Definitely a laid-back family-friendly location and depending on the time of your visit, you may find yourself sharing the beach with vary few others. Loud music is not permitted.
Sunbathing
For sun worshippers, there are some comfortable spots to just lay down a beach towel and soak it all in. There's also a considerable amount of tree-lined nooks and shaded areas for a little privacy. It can get quite rough during Norwesters, but then you might spot a surfer or two.
