About

Starfish Point is a secluded beach in Grand Cayman that is famous for its abundance of starfish. The water here is very shallow, making it a great place to snorkel and see the starfish up close. It's also great for young children to explore and learn the marine environment in relative safety. There is ample parking and the site can be reached by car or by boat. The beach also has public restrooms. There are no onsite vendors but Rum Point and Kaibo restaurants are nearby.

Additional Information

Here are some things to keep in mind when visiting Starfish Point:

  • Be respectful of the starfish. Do not pick them up out of the water, as this can harm them.
  • Wear sunscreen and a hat, as there is little shade on the beach.
  • Bring your own snacks and drinks, as there are no food or drink vendors on the beach.
  • Be aware of the tides, as the beach can disappear completely at high tide.

If you are looking for a beautiful and relaxing place to visit, Starfish Point is definitely worth the drive, perhaps as part of a wider day trip out to Rum Point or East End. Often Starfish Point is included as part of a group, or private boat trip and we would highly recommend booking a half or full day with a tour company.
